Mission Team back from DR!

 Just arrived home!

Members of the 2017 Mission Team arrived home early on Monday April 24, 2017. They spent a wonderful, although somewhat rainy, 11 days in the Dominican Republic working with TEARS and members of the community in the barrio of Maria Auxilliadora, La Vega.  While there, the team spent time with the students in El Camino school, cheered the TEARS soccer team to a first place win in a tournament held at the TEARS Centre, helped to facilitate a youth church service and celebrated Easter with the congregation of Soto church.  These were just some of the highlights from the trip.  The Mission Team will be providing a fuller report to the congregation in June 2017.

The team heard about the dreams of the local people to build a high school on the TEARS site and to provide clean water and education to the community of Soto. On June 11, 2017 at 7 pm there will be a fundraising concert featuring The Great Plains,Saskia and Darrel, and a silent auction at the church to help raise funds for these projects.
